Blood runs cold review

Posted : 10 years, 10 months ago on 5 July 2014 08:14 (A review of Blood runs cold )

Highly recommend :

After the first year in her new career, breakthrough artist Winona (Hanna Oldenburg) heads back to her home town for a few weeks to wind down and find inspiration to write new songs. After struggling to locate the right address through the harsh weather and winter darkness, she finally settles in to the house her manager has rented for her. To her surprise the house is run down and does not at all meet the standard she expected. After a while, she is disturbed by unsettling noises coming from upstairs, and decides to head in to town to get a drink. At one of the town's local pubs, Winona coincidently bumps into her ex-boyfriend Richard (Patrick Saxe) and two friends of his, the couple Carl (Andreas Rylander) and Liz (Elin Hugoson). After breaking the ice, they all decide to have themselves a private after party at Winona's rented house in the woods. At the same time, something or someone remains awake at all times, roaming the hidden corridors underneath the old house, waiting, watching them for the right moment to strike. And as they all go to sleep, an old song on the radio starts to play and so does the killing.

Following a busy year of relative success in the record business, Winona heads back to her tiny hometown in the remote outskirts of Stockholm to stay at a house her manager has rented where she can relax alone and hopefully find the inspiration to write some new songs. As a snowstorm brews and night begins to fall, she manages to find the house but is disappointed to discover it's not the luxurious retreat she was expecting. Shortly after settling in, Winona becomes unsettled by the creepy creaking sounds of the old house and decides to head to a bar in town for refreshments and some company. There, she bumps into a former boyfriend and a couple he knows and invites them back to the house for a few drinks. At the end of the night, with everyone either too drunk or too tired to drive home, they decide to crash until morning. But as the four friends prepare to sleep, an unknown presence stirs within the house, one that has been watching and waiting for the right moment to strike.
